Tammie Kaye Simcox Patchin, of Eagle Mountain, Utah, went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2011 after fighting a 19 month battle with lung cancer. Tammie passed away at home surrounded by her husband, 2 step children, 2 sisters and a few dear friends. She was born on December 3, 1965 in Ravenna, Ohio to Franklin L. Simcox Sr. and Melva J. Butler Simcox, both of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband Dennis J. Patchin whom she married on September 5, 1998. She is also survived by 2 step daughters, Fayette Knippenberg and Heather Westfall, both of Ohio and Paul Patchin of Utah.
She was preceded in death by her oldest sister Rose Simcox of Ohio and has 4 living siblings; Laura Hedge, Frank Simcox Jr., Judith Space and Paula Daniel; all of Ohio. She also has 7 grandchildren, all of Ohio.
Tammie had 2 main passions, her grandchildren and shopping. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and showering them with the great "bargains" she would find. She loved shopping for jewelry, purses and shoes. Dennis and Tammie moved to Utah in 2006 with Tammie's company Kraftmaid Cabinetry, with whom she was employed for 13 years. Her most recent employer was JW Pepper, where she was employed for the past 2 years.
A visitation was held in Utah. Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St. Garrettsville, OH 44231. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in West Farmington.
