THELMA "JEAN" HOFFMAN

March 16, 1933 — October 11, 2010

Thelma “Jean” Hoffman, 77, of Garrettsville, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010 at University Health Care, Heather Hill in Chardon. She was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on March 16, 1933 to the late James A. and Mary E. (Nichols) Absalom.

Jean was a hairdresser and enjoyed watching QVC and shopping. Jean cherished her beloved grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her son, Donald A. Hoffman (fiancée, Janet) of Southington; daughters, Carla (Ed) Huff of Florida and Brenda Powers and Tammy (Phil) Britton of Garrettsville; sisters, Melba Young and Carolyn Semivan of Youngstown; sister-in-law Sally Absalom of Youngstown; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, DeLoyd Carl Hoffman, brother, James E. Absalom; and one grandchild, Shayla Hoffman.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 14, 2010 and 10-11 AM on Friday at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 AM with Rev. Dreama Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Harrington Cemetery, Nelson Twp.
