Thomas J. Leonti, Sr., age 85, of Medina, passed away on August 31, 2020. He was born on September 15, 1934 in Cleveland, OH to the late Salvatore and Phyllis (nee Fiorelli) Leonti.
Tom was active with the Knights of Columbus since age 18 achieving 4th degree and was a Past Grand Knight. In high school, he played football and ran track. He enjoyed playing baseball, softball and raising quarter horses. Tom was a past president of the Central Ohio Saddle Club Association. He worked for the Strongsville Schools for 20 years and was in charge of building and grounds maintenance. He was a devoted family man with strong family values, and all but insisted that the family never move far from home.
He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 67 years, Judith D. Leonti (nee Biro); his loving children, Terri Parker (John), Judy Piesik (Wally), Thomas J. Leonti Jr. (Lynn), Janet Sandvick (Scott), and Lynn Rogers (Frank); his 14 grandchildren; and a boat load of great and great-great grandchildren; his siblings, Phyllis Gessel (Jack), and Larry Leonti.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jack Leonti (Janet, surviving).
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of Route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212. A Knight of Columbus Service will be held during the visitation. Tom's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Church, 929 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, OH 44212 on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Valley City.
