Photo: Obituary: Vera A. (Matthews) Mitchell, 74 of Troy Township, passed away on Monday June 11, 2012 . She was born May 5, 1938 in Garrettsville, Ohio to Marshall Norman and Mary (Beezek) Matthews. Vera was a homemaker and an avid Ohio State and Browns fan. She enjoyed the heated Browns-Steelers rivalry. Vera enjoyed sewing, crocheting and could make or craft anything. She loved talking sports, and spending time with her family, friends and her beloved grandkids. Left to carry on her memory is her husband of 55 years, Robert Mitchell, daughter Debbie (Randy) Roubic of Garrettsville; siblings, Marshall Matthews Jr. of Southington, Pat Paxton of Garrettsville, Dorothy (Bill) Fox of Parkman, and Chuck (Debbie) Matthews of Parkman. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carol Sue and sisters, Ruth Townsend and Bonnie Nedelka. Calling hours are 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
