VINCE ACKERMANN

Vince Ackermann, age 86, of Medina, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022. He was born on March 15, 1936, in Croatia to Josef and Emily Ackermann.

Vince worked as a baker before he immigrated to the United States in 1956. After moving to the U.S., he was a maintenance machinist at a small shop and then at Ford Motor Company, where he retired after 25 years. He was an active member of German Central, Lenau Park, and U.A.W. 1250. After he retired, he had more time for the things he loved; spending time with his family, gardening, and woodworking.

He will be deeply missed by Joanne, his loving wife of 63 years; children John (Stephanie), Michael (Melinda), Lori Ann (Glen) Murduck; brother: Martin Ackermann; grandchildren: Joseph Vincent (Kelly) Murduck, Ruth Michael (Michael) Szukala, Willem Sean Ackermann, William Andrew Murduck, Brooke Marie Massaro, Anna Marie Murduck; great grandchildren: Jackson Vincent Murduck, and Leo Robert Murduck; and many nieces and nephews.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents Josef and Emily Ackermann; and sisters, Magdelena Gerhart and Elfie Ackermann.

Friends may join the family for visitation for Vince on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 2 PM until 4 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, (Corner of Rt. 18 & River Styx) in Medina, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Our Lady of Grace Church, 1088 Ridge Road, Hinckley, Ohio 44233. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, 2869 Grafton Road, Brunswick, Ohio 44212.
