Virginia A. (Stearns) Savage, 95, passed away January 22, 2015 in Medina, Ohio. Born June 5, 1919 in Stanton, Michigan, she lived most of her life in the Lansing area and was a 1938 graduate of Lansing Central High School. A member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for 50+ years, she was their Woman of the Year in 2001. An avid bridge player, member of the Okemos Garden Club and award winning floral designer, she also served for decades as a Sparrow Hospital volunteer, as well as a member and volunteer for Plymouth Congregational Church in Lansing for many years. A dear friend to many, she made friends wherever she went and, until the end, Virginia was an eternal optimist.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters and son-in-laws, Christine and George Bryant of Medina, Ohio and Peggy and Jeff Ramsey of Charlevoix, Michigan; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and her dear friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert, and her daughter, Carol.
A celebration of Virginia’s life and a graveside service in Lansing, Michigan will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
