Walter Andrew Goldbach, age 88, our beloved father, was called to his eternal resting place on December 13, 2017. He was born on August 10, 1929 in Cleveland, to John and Mary (Shoos) Goldbach.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 60 years, Barbara (nee Hiller); and sister, Dorothy Kosa.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Linda Cahill, Laura (David) Kozman, Michael (Jeanne) Goldbach, Karen (Randy) Goodson, Heidi (Scott) Balicki; grandchildren, Nathan (Beth) Kozman, Stacia (Rob) Fox, Adam Kozman, Conor Adams, Kyle and Klay Robey, Aidan, Tara and Trent Balicki; great grandchildren, Avery and Michael Kozman, Abbie Fox.
At the age of 18, Walter created the 1948 Cleveland Indian original Chief Wahoo Logo. This logo was historically worn during the 1948 World Series win. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan. Walter was also a veteran in the United States Army, proudly serving in the Korean War.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 3PM - 7PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 1088 Ridge Rd, Hinckley, OH at 10:30AM. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at 1PM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
