WALTER PHILIP HULME

Walter P. Hulme, age 94, of Medina, passed away on September 30, 2018. He was born on June 21, 1924 in Youngstown, OH to the late William and Carrie (nee Schanz) Hulme.

Walter retired from WJW-TV 8 in Cleveland, where he worked as an engineer. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Berea where he married Jean in 1951. Walter enjoyed the outdoors. He was a handyman who loved running, biking, camping, fishing & traveling. He was devoted to his church, helping others, and treasured spending time with his family.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Jean (nee Vannorsdall); sons, Bruce (Beth), Roy (Mary Ann); daughter, Joy (Steven "Sandy") Helms; grandchildren; Jessica, Matthew (Henna), Eric, Ann, Steve (Rhonda), Sharon; great grandchildren, Raulins, Lilli, Aniston, Heidi, Benny, Amy, and Sarah.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William; sister-in-law, Lucy Hulme; and niece, Sally.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256. A Funeral Service will be held for Walter on Thursday, October 4 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6462 Ridge Rd., Sharon Center, OH 44274. Pastors Tom Fox and Dale Hulme, officiating. There will be a visitation one-hour prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley, OH.
