Walter (Wally) George Zimmerman, age 84, passed away on November 1, 2019. He was born on May 12, 1935 in Cleveland, OH to the late Walter and Susan (nee Figuly) Zimmerman.
Wally graduated from Fenn College of Engineering in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 38 for 64 years. Wally was an antique car owner, and enthusiast, but the love of his family is what really meant everything to him. He also meant the world to his family.
Wally will be dearly missed by his cherished wife Joan Virginia (Haas). He was a devoted father to Rhonda (David) Pfefferl, Jeffrey (Bonnie) Zimmerman and David Zimmerman. He was a beloved grandfather of Melanie, Candy, Ryan, Jaime, Jesse, Amber, Clay, Megan, Sarah, Emily, Erin and Austin. Great grandfather of Jordan, Hallie, Xailla, Hanna, Gabe, Sophia (deceased), Isaac, Jeremiah, Samuel and Grayson.
Friends may join the family for a Celebration of Wally’s Life on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, (corner of River Styx Rd. and Route 18) Medina, OH 44256. Interment will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Western Reserve Hospice at www.hospicewr.org .
