Photo: Obituary: Wanda M. Friede, 98, of Freedom passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 following a very active life. She was born October 22, 1914 in a little yellow house in Blainesville, Ohio to Peter and Sophia (Czyson) Mozden. Wanda was one of ten children and her children consider her the “Best Mother in the World.” Wanda was a homemaker, a member of the Hiram Lunch Bunch, and very prolific at crocheting. She was an avid Indians and Browns fan and a fabulous baker and cook. She enjoyed her flowers and gardening and spending time with family and friends. Wanda is survived by her children, Bob (Robyne) Friede of Mantua, Hank (Debbie) Friede of Washington and Doloris “Dee” Hockman of Garrettsville; a brother, Marty Mozden of Maynard; grandchildren, Loralee, Dave and Heather; great grandchildren, Morgan, Avonlea and Hannah; and her pet THE CAT. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry James, brothers, Alexander, Charles, Walter, Lewey, and Sylvester; and sisters, Mary, Helen and Sue. Calling hours will be from 12 to 2 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM on Saturday with Reverend Houston Bower officiating. Burial will be in Drakesburg Cemetery, Freedom Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Wanda’s name to the Portage Animal Protective League, PO Box 927, Ravenna, OH 44266.
