WILLIAM ADDISON

William Douglas Addison, age 91, of Parma, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2021. He was born on August 29, 1930, in Amonate, Virginia to the late Frank and Nina (nee Gentry) Addison.

William proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a machinist at Cleveland Pneumatic Tool Company for 40 years, where he made lifelong friendships. His wife, children, grandchildren - who fondly and lovingly knew him as their "Papa Bill," and great grandchildren were his pride and joy in life. William enjoyed traveling, reading, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Peggy Ann (nee Mathena) Addison; children Ronald D. Addison (Suzette), Nanette Brown (Russell), the Honorable Judge Pamela Barker (Jeffery) and Donna Sentendrey (Joseph); grandchildren Jeffrey Brown (Jenny), Stephen Brown, David Sentendrey, Brandon Barker (Cassandra), John Sentendrey, Jared Barker, Becca Addison, and Laura Addison; and great grandchildren Sawyer and Scarlett Brown. His sister-in-law Betty Jane (nee Mathena) Davidson was very near and dear to him.

William was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank, Jr., Georgia (nee Durden), and Elmer Addison.

The family will have a private service for William on Monday, December 13, 2021, at 8:00 AM. The Addison family has entrusted Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, Ohio 44256, with the arrangements. Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, in Seville, Ohio. A memorial service will be planned for William in the Spring of 2022.
