William P. "Bill" Labuda, 74, of Wayland, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. He was born to the late William R. and Betty J. (Egerland) Labuda.
He was a decorated veteran of the United States Army who proudly served his country as a helicopter mechanic in Vietnam. Bill was employed in the maintenance department at the Youngstown Post Office for almost 20 years. He loved his family, his country, and God. Bill was a life-long gear head who spent many of his days off working on cars in his or his son's driveway. He was an active member of AA who helped many find sobriety in his almost 40 years with the program. He enjoyed porch-sitting at his daughter and ex-wife's (Karen Labuda) home in Kansas, as well as driving to the Arctic Circle with his son on multiple occasions. He was planning a third trip to the Arctic as well as one to visit in Kansas when he passed. He loved to read and always seemed to know something about everything, but when there was a problem that required more help than he could give he would always say, "Pray about it."
Bill will be deeply missed by his children, Christina "Chris" Labuda and William "Billy" Labuda, his sisters Judy (Labuda) McMillin and Nancy (Labuda) Hanna, as well as many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Bill's wishes, he is to be cremated. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 9:45 A.M., at Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd (Corner of Rt 18 & River Styx), Medina, OH 44256, with Pastor Allen Parker of Pittsburg, KS officiating.
