William McPherson, age 89, of Strongsville, passed away on August 23, 2022. He was born on December 9, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio to Alexander and Irene (nee Doak) McPherson.
He was a loving husband and father, who always put family first. William enjoyed being a scout leader, was an avid Cleveland sports fan, and loved reading, baking, woodworking, and singing. He was previously a member of St. Ambrose Parish in Brunswick, Brunswick Knights of Columbus, Eucharistic Minister, and performed in the St. Ambrose Choir.
William will be dearly missed by Dolores, his loving wife of 66 years, his children: Keith (Denise), Scott (Jolene), Joseph (Valerie), Karen, Kevin (Jaculyn), Charles (Karen); grandchildren Andrea (Stephen), Shawna (Ryan), Katherine (Eric), Nicholas (Katie), Angela (Anthony), Abigail (Ernest), Joseph, Kyle, Ian, Elisha, Nathan, Julia, Evelyn, Riley; great-grandchildren Juliette, Kevin, Emery, Holden, Sylvia, Brayden, Jameson, Gavin, Wilson, Lucy, Nora, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Irene McPherson. Siblings Mary (William), John (Dorothy), Walter (Merle), Wilson (Evelyn), Ralph (Catherine), James, and Jane (Dale).
Please join the family for visitation for William on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd., (corner of Route 18 River Styx), Medina, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Basil The Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd, Brecksville, OH.
Donations will be graciously accepted by St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in William's memory.
