William E. Parker Sr., age 81, of Hinckley, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 27, 2016 after a courageous battle with Stage IV cancer. He was born January 26, 1935 in Clay, West Virginia to the late William H. and Maysel (nee Nelson) Parker.
Bill married the love of his life, LaVerne in 1956. He retired from Republic Steel after 38 years. Some of Bill’s favorite pastimes included golf, bowling, fishing, and following NASCAR. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 59 years, LaVerne; children, William Jr., LaVerne Scherban, Cynthia Jean (James) Carter; brother, Gary (Nancy); sisters, Doris (Paul) Day, Betty Shella; grandchildren, Sheila (R.J.), Renee (Mike), Dawn, Kelly, Jennifer, Troy, Derek, Little Bill; great grandchildren; Gregory, Angela, Donna, Caius, Cordelia; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy and Jennings.
Friends may join the family to celebrate Bill’s life on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Bennett's Corners Community United Methodist Church, 47 West 130th St., Hinckley, Ohio 44233. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Brunswick.
