Wilma Ann (Barton) Bailey, age 82 of Brunswick, peacefully passed away on January 5, 2021. Wilma was born on September 8, 1938 to the late Ralph and Ellen Barton in Flint, Michigan. She was the youngest of three daughters.
Wilma was married to Malcolm Sidney Bailey on September 20, 1957. They had 5 children. Wilma enjoyed working in her flower garden, reading, watching fireworks with family and friends, following hot air balloons, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She worked as a housekeeper at a couple different hotels along with her best friend Sarah Schoolcraft. Christmas was one of her most favorite times of the year with all the decorations, going to look at the lights, picking out gifts, watching everyone open their gifts, and seeing everyone so happy.
Throughout her life she faced many difficult health issues, but she always was very determined to beat each challenge and be ok to go back and enjoy going out to dinner with friends once a week and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Malcolm (Bill), sisters Wanda and Thelma, and son Kevin.
Surviving are her dear sons Dennis (Bonnie) (Kris), Malcolm (Holly), and Brian, and her daughter Cathy (Jeff) Banker. Also surviving are her grandchildren Dennis (Lauren) Bailey, Tracey (Jay) Chapman, Malcolm (Annie), Melissa Bailey, Joe (Ashley) and Nick (Nivien) Banker, Brian and Eddy Bailey, Billy, Jason, Jeremy, Deborah, and Melissa Bailey. Wilma also had several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 3-5 pm, where a funeral service will be held at 5 pm at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick (one 1/2 mile south of Rt #303 and Pearl Road on the west side of the road). Facial coverings are required and social distancing guidelines will apply.
The family is asking no flowers please. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to any APL or to the Medina Creative Housing, 1120 N. Huntington Street, Medina, Ohio 44256.
