Winona Olga Garney-Stout, age 79, of Medina, passed away on April 27, 2019. She was born September 30, 1939, in Detroit, MI to the late Joseph and Olga (nee Farkas) Garney. Winona was inspiring, generous, nurturing, physically & emotionally beautiful and capable. She left our visible world at 2:25 a.m., April 27, 2019.
Winona’s memory will be a blessing to all who crossed her path. Winona showed by example how to love and commit to her husband of 60 years, Joseph. She showed by example how to unconditionally support & love every day of her life. She showed by example how to accept persons of all religions, race, nationality and preference. She showed by example how to succeed as a woman in the 1950s by getting her college degree and working in her chosen field of real estate for over 40 years. She showed by example how to be charitable with both her time and money, even if she had neither. She worked timelessly for her church and advocated for the integration of the city of Birmingham by founding The Baldwin House Senior Living Home. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Joseph; children, Kimberly, Marshelle, & Dr. Mark (Lauralea) Stout; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
Winona’s family will receive friends and relatives for her visitation on Monday, April 29, 2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and thereafter, to share thoughts at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
